HOUSE IN DIKILI

INFO

House in Dikili is an all-year family house located on 8000 square meters of land by the seashore with amazing views of islands and a beautiful grove of olive trees. Being located 15 kilometers from the town center, the site provides the perfect location for a calm retreat.

The design of the house is based on the zoning of activities with respect to daily use patterns. Living quarters are located on one side, including a living room, a kitchen and a study; whereas bedrooms and SPA facilities are located on the opposite side for privacy. All rooms designed for the residents enjoy views of the Aegean Sea, while the SPA rooms face the beautiful scenery of Olive trees.

The building is designed to take advantage of passive heating-cooling systems, and special attention is paid to the use of cross ventilation in addition to a trombe wall on the south-southwest facade. The design also features rain water harvesting and uses solar energy to power up the house.

The occasional olive trees on the spot of the house are integrated into the design via courtyards, which both provide shades and calm terraces for the house. The structure is designed with local stone from the site and rammed earth walls, which help blend into the surrounding landscape.
