The campus is organized around a clear hierarchy of medical and complementary functions, with the hospital forming the clinical core while the academy, hotel, staff residence, administration, and supporting facilities create a cohesive medical district. A central landscaped courtyard connects the buildings, encouraging intuitive pedestrian movement and strengthening visual relationships across the campus. Multiple access points separate emergency, public, and service circulation, ensuring efficient operations while maintaining a comfortable experience for patients and visitors.

 

Designed for the Mediterranean climate of Tripoli, the architectural strategy prioritizes environmental performance through passive design principles. Building orientation, landscaped courtyards, and open spaces respond to prevailing winds and intense solar exposure, improving outdoor comfort and supporting natural ventilation. Continuous horizontal shading, recessed façades, and generous glazing balance daylight with solar protection, while green courtyards, planted terraces, cooling water features, and roof gardens enhance the campus microclimate. The roofscape also accommodates future sustainable infrastructure, including green roofs and potential helipad locations, ensuring long-term adaptability.

 

By integrating medical care with education, hospitality, accommodation, and community amenities, the project establishes a new model for healthcare infrastructure in Libya. More than an oncology center, it becomes a destination for knowledge exchange, recovery, and long-term resilience, where healing extends beyond clinical treatment into a broader human experience.
