NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY CENTER
INFO
The main theme of the project, “belonging to the place”, suggests that immigrants’ integration with the city can be facilitated through “a place” to which they can associate themselves. In this sense, the structure defines a specific “place” by providing a roof that extends to the site boundaries, but connects with the city through visual and physical connections in section. Consequently, the structure is integrated to the city via an uninterrupted visual contact with the urban tissue, but still maintains a defined place that creates a sense of belonging in the inhabitants.
