Lalin Houses
secluded retreat in the mediterranean countryside
Lalin Houses, 2021
Lalin residence is located on a secluded site in the forests of Gökçeovacık, a village close to the famous tourism spot Göcek. The design takes advantage of the irregular geometry of the site to provide a private retreat the blurs the boundaries between interiors and exteriors.
Individual functions of the house are visually connected by a central atrium that houses a gathering space and the staircase. The lower floor contains spaces for daily activities, which connect directly with the surrounding garden on western and soutern facades and the swimming pool on the eastern side.
The upper floor houses bedrooms and shared amenities, offering a private zone but still maintaining dialogue with the ground floor via the gallery.
