NorthGate Ankara
urban center for residents "on the move"

NorthGate Ankara, 2014

Northgate Ankara, located close to Esenboga International Airport in Ankara, creates a socially and economically sustainable urban center in the vicinity. The first phase of the project houses home- offices, a five star hotel of an international chain, and a shopping center, which programmatically complement each other. Through intertwined spatial uses and the organization of exteriors, the project aims both to serve as a social focus and support the growing urban tissue around it.

The project emerges from the need for providing temporary working-living environments for business people using the airport. Emerging from this requirement, the project features home-office units ranging between 24-30m2 that can be instantaneously converted to house user requirements for working or living.
